WEB SERVICES
If you are an individual or organization requiring presence on the web, we can provide all
the services you are likely to need. Golux Studio will create, design,
build, host, and maintain your web site so that you have no need to involve yourself at
the technical level. Alternatively, we can provide partial service, allowing
you to take over any of these functions in-house.
The following services can be provided in (almost) any combination:

Registration of your domain name in the top-level Internet domains .com, .net,
.org, and .edu. We provide this service for free to our clients, although we will pass
along the registration fee charged by the
Network Solutions,
currently running in the range of $30/year depending on the length of contract.

Custom email addresses with your own domain name. Even if you don't need a web site,
you may need email addresses that are customized for your business or organization, so
that people can send email to your-name@your-domain. Use of this service requires that
you have at least one email account with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) or another
email provider like hotmail or yahoo, as we will only forward mail to your existing
account. In most instances, custom email can be added and maintained along with your
web site as a courtesy.

Hosting your site on the Internet, so that it is available and accessible to anyone
with an Internet connection. We can either host brand new sites, or you can transfer
an existing site to us with ease. Monthly fees vary based on the size of your site,
and on how much traffic it attracts. We do not charge any flat setup fees, but we do
charge our hourly consulting rate for administrative web site work.
Our network supplier guarantees a 99% UPTIME due to the latest and most powerful
equipment, linked through industrial strength Cisco routers, into
redundant UUNet, MCI, and GTE International OC-3 lines.

The design and construction of your site. Whether you need a site that is highly
information-based like this one (see our site philosophy),
or one that is interactive
and/or more showy, or one on which you would like to sell your own products or services, we
can design it with you and build it for you. We prefer to bill our clients for our time
and materials but can provide bids to work on a fixed-cost basis. It is invariably more
cost-effective for our clients when we charge for time and materials. We will provide cost
estimates in any event, and keep you well-informed of our progress. It is our intention
never to surprise a client with a bill.

The maintenance of your site. Web sites typically need to change over time, fixes need to
be made, and problems resolved. If you are not inclined or able to maintain your site, we
can handle that for you. Depending on how your
site is built and what maintenance is entailed, we can either bill a fixed monthly fee,
charge for time and materials, or some combination of the two.
